I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Materials Engineering, Indian Institute of Science. My research interests include applying principles of computational materials science, thermodynamics, and kinetics to understand and predict material behavior. I specifically look at materials that have applications in energy storage (batteries), and energy harvesting (photovoltaics and thermochemical water splitting).

Before joining Indian Institute of Science, I was a post-doctoral research associate at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Princeton University, where I worked with Prof. Emily A. Carter. I received my PhD from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, under the guidance of Prof. Gerbrand Ceder. Prior to my PhD, I graduated with a Dual Degree (B. Tech. + M. Tech.) at the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, where I worked with Prof. K. C. Hari Kumar for my senior thesis.

When I am not researching, I can be found watching test (or other formats) cricket, discussing “mokka” movies, or hiking in the wilderness.
