Veena Desai has been working at KLS ,Gogte Institute of Technology, Belgaum since 1991. She has served as Head of Department of
Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science Engineering during this tenure.
Veena holds a PhD in Electronics (VTU), Masters in Computer Network Engineering (with Honors) and Bachelor’s degree in
Electronics & Communication Engineering (with Distinction). She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber laws from Asian
School of Cyber laws ,Mumbai University and has completed a Certificate course in IPR from WIPO.
Veena has over 28 years of teaching experience and is involved in Guiding research scholars and teaching UG and PG students,
and her major area of research include Computational Intelligence applications, Network security, Biomedical signal processing
and Agriculture related issues.
Veena has published over 50 indexed and peer reviewed research publications. She has been instrumental in setting up interaction
with multinational companies for placement activities and industry driven electives.
Veena has served as chair and reviewer at many International conferences, member of Board of Studies and Board of examiners (VTU).
She has successfully completed FDP’s with grants from VGST and VTU and more than 20 professional activities. She has been invited
by many schools and organizations for Career Counseling.
She is a Member IEEE, Life member ISTE, Life member of Computer Society of India, Life member of IETE and Life member of
Cryptographic Research Society of India, CRSI.
